About Bulloch County Schools

Bulloch County Schools serves more than 11,000 students in 15 schools: nine elementary, three middle and three high schools. The district is based in Statesboro. Dr. Torian White became superintendent on July 1, 2026. He was once the principal at Southeast Bulloch Middle School. The district runs 43 career pathways through its College & Career Academy program. High school students can also take dual enrollment classes through Georgia Southern University, East Georgia College and Ogeechee Technical College. This year, personal device bans expand from elementary schools into middle schools.

What Parents in Bulloch County Should Know This Year

Here are the things that stand out on this calendar.

First, look at the weather make-up days. October 19 and 20 are listed as possible make-up days, and they fall inside Fall Break. April 5 and 6 are also possible make-up days, and they fall inside Spring Break. They are only possible days. If the district needs to make up lost class time, those are the days it could use. Weather has closed Bulloch schools before, so the make-up days on this calendar are there for a reason. During the 2024-2025 school year, four major weather events closed schools for a total of 14 days. That included time lost after Tropical Storm Debby and Hurricane Helene, and later a winter storm. The district decided not to make up those days. In November 2019, the district added two class days after Hurricane Dorian canceled school. A weather closure on February 2, 2026 shows that it can still happen in winter.
